ABC Hosts Iowa GOP Debate; the Palin-less Race

Tonight, another GOP presidential debate occurs, this time on ABC. The buzz has been centered around what the exchange will be like between the former front runner, Mitt Romney, and the current front runner, Newt Gingrich, who has soared ahead in the polls. As much as I'm interested in seeing the exchange between these two, I am also hoping to hear more from Rick Santorum, who secured the endorsement of Iowa Secretary of State, Matt Schultz.

The debate, held in Des Moines, Iowa, begins at 9 p.m. Eastern and will be moderated by George Stephanopoulos and Diane Sawyer.

Like many other supporters of Governor Palin, I was hoping to have the full package in a candidate this time. That package, of course, is the Governor herself, who has opted not to run at this time. She has the executive experience, the business background, and the energy expertise we need. In the course of her dual-decade career, she has cut spending, forward-funded education, and paved the way for job growth in her hometown, transforming Wasilla into the fastest growing city in the state. She upheld her state's Constitution, looked big wigs and "corrupt bastards" in the eyes, fought corruption--and won. She secured the largest private sector infrastructure project in North American history. She is not beholden to special interests because she has never been for sale, and she has called out crony capitalism, which has since become a major focus of conversation and inspection. Her accomplishments are numerous, many of which are highlighted in Stephen Bannon's The Undefeated. When you've supported someone like this, it's hard to settle for just part of the package. I have not yet found that one conservative in the race whom I can put my heart behind as I was behind Governor Palin. Some don't even come close to securing my vote of confidence, much less my vote for president, and it might just be a game-time decision. In the meantime, I will vet these candidates, research records, watch debates, pray, and wait. I will also continue to be grateful that Governor Palin is not going away. Rather, she continues to use the platform she's been given to fight for what's right for this country, even without a title.

I do believe that each candidate in the race would make a better Commander-in-Chief than the one we now have, so I'm certainly not sitting this thing out.

Tune in tonight.

My sole motivation? The TRUTH!
